Dear prospective applicants!

Viewpoints, Learning Aptitudes and Approaches

The SGSB Business School created a new model for its Advanced Management Program to meet the challenges of increasing uncertainty, complexity, globalization, technological change and organizational transformation. We combined the insights from one of the world ‘s leading general management program with the intellectual breadth of the SGSB Business School and our France public University partner.

The result is a program whose scope ranges from high-level corporate strategy to individual interactions, from Internet technology to ancient anthropology. Small classes and an emphasis on individual, team and organizational processes provide an intense personal and intellectual challenge.

The SGSB Business School and our France public University partner’s AMP actively explores paradoxical thinking and provides a forum for engaging the more complex issues of management and global citizenship. Senior executives learn from hands-on experience, so SGSB’s AMP uses interactive, experiential learning to engage participants in active discussions and create situations in which to practice new skills.

Throughout the five weeks, the program deliberately creates opportunities in which risks can be taken.

Modern organizations demand interactive leadership. You succeed not only through individual initiative, but by using your individual strengths to build effective teams and organizations. The SGSB’s Advanced Management Program provides an experience at three different levels to sharpen your:

  • Organizational knowledge: The program provides insights into how organizational systems and processes influence the people within them.
  • Team dynamics: Through team projects and sessions with experts in team dynamics, Wharton’s AMP helps you understand how to successfully design and participate on teams.
  • Individual insights: The program has an unmatched focus on the individual, with optional use of the Myers-Briggs Instrument, sessions on work/life balance, and individual executive coaching.

The curriculum is packed with the information and perspectives that will help you better understand and lead your business.

The SGSB’s AMP provides sessions in such functional to pics as management, marketing and finance, but it also adds critical examinations of leadership and organizational dynamics, and the broader context of the organization. A unique human dimension” component draws upon perspectives of experts in history, anthropology, literature and other disciplines to consider their implications for management. Throughout the program you are encouraged to engage in second-order thinking, i.e., to think about how you think. The SGSB’s AMP takes you out of your current context to give you new vantage points for addressing your business challenges.

The SGSB AMP provides an integrated global perspective. Executives and experts give regional profiles on areas such as Greater China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Latin America, these experiences and related coursework give you new tools for succeeding in global competition.
